On May 13, 2020, we were told our six-year-old son Dylan had an incurable brain tumour. Nothing prepares you for those words. Our world stopped, and then it had to keep going — school runs, meals, bedtimes — all while holding our boy close.
Early on, a consultant told us, "You're already doing all you can." It was a kindness we've never forgotten. In hospital, we were even offered sugar — the very last thing we wanted to feed Dylan's body as it fought. So we learned everything we could about nutrition, and we cooked with purpose.
While food couldn't cure Dylan, good nutrition gave him strength, energy and precious moments of childhood normality. His blood work stayed strong through treatment. He kept playing the football he loved, for extra months — running, laughing, being a boy, not a patient.
Dylan was forever 7. Now, as a family, we're passionate about helping others on this journey — making sure no parent has to choose between being a caterer and being a mum or dad, and no child faces treatment without the strength good food brings.
