Founded in loving memory of Dylan, forever 7

No family should face cancer without nutritious food.

The Dylan Strong Foundation empowers families of children diagnosed with cancer with healthy food in and out of hospital, nutritional guidance and school holiday packages — helping children feel strong throughout treatment and beyond.

What we do

Quiet help, when everything feels loud.

01

Meals in hospital and at home

Nutritious, ready-to-go meals delivered to wards and family freezers, so parents can be mum and dad, not caterers.

02

Nutritional guidance

Practical, judgement-free guidance that helps parents take an active role in their child's health during treatment.

03

School holiday packages

Food boxes and holiday packages that keep families nourished when routines fall away.

How it works

Four small steps, from referral to reassurance.

1

A family is referred or reaches out

Through hospital teams, social workers or directly, with no forms to fight through.

2

We listen and tailor support

Every child and every family is different — support is shaped around each of them.

3

Meals are delivered, in hospital and at home

Nutritious meals arrive on the ward and in the freezer, ready when energy runs low.

4

We stay close, for as long as it takes

Through treatment and beyond, we remain a steady presence for the whole family.

Why we exist

On May 13, 2020, we were told our six-year-old son Dylan had an incurable brain tumour. While food couldn't cure Dylan, good nutrition gave him strength, energy and precious moments of childhood normality — his blood work stayed strong and he kept playing the football he loved.

Now, as a family, we're passionate about helping others on this journey.

Fresh, colourful meal boxes prepared and ready for delivery to a family
One less thing to carry.

Food alone can't change the course of cancer. But nourishing a child's body can make a difference in how they feel, every single day.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions.

How do families receive support?

Families are referred by hospital teams or reach out directly. We listen first, then tailor meals, vouchers and holiday packages around each child.

Can food really make a difference?

Food can't cure cancer, and we never claim it can. But good nutrition helps children keep strength, energy and moments of normality through treatment — it gave Dylan extra months of feeling strong and full of life.

How is my donation used?

Every donation funds meals, food vouchers and holiday packages. £50 sends a monthly delivery of meals to a family; £1,000 supports a family for a whole year.

Can I fundraise for DSF?

Yes — bake sales, marathons, fancy-dress Fridays. Every event is run by volunteers, so your fundraising goes straight to families. Get in touch and we'll help you set it up.

  • 2½ cups oats
  • 1 cup nuts, seeds and dried fruit
  • 1½ cups cottage cheese
  • ¾ cup maple syrup
  • A sprinkle of nutmeg
